On the way to our last High Tatras resort, we have stopped at Tatranec Camp to refill our water tank (ridiculous 7 EUR). Then we moved to a very local botanical garden with an exposition of Tatras Nature (entrance 2,50 EUR). Later we have parked near the cable car station (free parking) and walked to the city for a dinner at Grill Pub (Pork Ribs 9,50 EUR, Baked potato with bacon and cottage cheese 4,50 EUR, Zlaty Bazant 0,5 l / 1,90 EUR). Finally, we have found also supermarket to buy fresh bread (1,50 EUR) and Pilsner Urquell beer (0,5l / 0,90 EUR). In the morning we took a cable car (28 EUR return ticket up to Lomnické Sedlo) to Skalnate Pleso with nice views at the second highest peak of High Tatras – Lomnický Štít (2634 m). Since the funicular to Lomnický Štít was fully booked (have to reserve it in advance), we have decided to continue to Lomnické Sedlo, which is located at the altitude of 2190 meters. It is a place with breathtaking views in good weather, unfortunately, we have got again heavy rain with snow and hailstones. We took our lunch at Skalnate Pleso at Panorama restaurant (Cabbage soup 3,30 EUR, Garlic soup 3,10 EUR, Hungarian Goulash 11,50 EUR, Beef with cream sauce 11,90 EUR, Sweet dumpling with poppy seed 7,50 EUR). And note, if you will take few cable car rides in the Tatras Region like us, then we do recommend getting a GOPASS card, which offers lower prices on all rides and also some discounts in the restaurants and shops.
