On the way to Mostar, we passed the famous Bridge on Neretva near Jablanica. During the Second World War, Bosnia was the scene of some of the fiercest battles between the Yugoslav Partisans (the Communist guerrilla-resistance) and the Axis Powers. The bridge got destroyed three times: once as a ruse, then in an actual attack, and finally for the movies. Today, there is a museum dedicated to the battle in the town of Jablanica.
