After a long inspection on the border between Romania and Hungary, we made it for the lunch in the second-largest city in Hungary, its name has been synonymous with wealth and conservatism since the 16th century. Flanked by the golden Great Church and the historic Aranybika hotel, Debrecen’s central square, Kossuth tér, sets the rather subdued tone for this city.
