Rainy and cloudy weather followed us to the largest ski resort in Eastern Europe. The resort is located almost on the ridge-lines of the Carpathian Mountains at an elevation of 900 m near the village of Polianytsia. The resort was pioneered in the year 2000 and built according to the masterplan with Winter Olympic ambitions. It currently boasts 17 ski lifts with roughly 60 km of pistes. In the summer of 2014, Bukovel opened the largest artificial lake in Ukraine with clear water warm up to 20-22 degrees. We were pretty surprised, how modern and large resort it is. We have parked just in the middle of the resort (180 UAH / day), from where we walked to take our light dinner at Veranda Lounge (Tasty burger 295 UAH, Mojito 185 UAH, Penicillin 245 UAH, Mineral water 0,5 l / 49 UAH). The next day we took a lift (150 UAH) to the starting point of our hike around Bukovel (Length: 11,3 km, Duration: 5 h, Elevation gain: 580 m, Highest point: 1451 m) through the amazing Carpathians nature.
