Aquatir Aquatic Farm specializes in the reproduction of fish species in order to obtain black caviar from sterlet, bester, Russian sturgeon, and the famous beluga whale. Fish farming is carried out according to the rules of the trade, using modern infrastructures and state-of-the-art technology, in harmony with the environment and with “respect for the animals”. The production capacity represents nearly 5 t of caviar per year and 500 t of fish. The caviar produced is good and of high quality. While visiting the site, we were impressed by the very large size of the fish, their imposing character, and the speed at which they swim. A European sturgeon lives for several decades, it can measure up to 3,50 m and weigh up to 500 kg. The beluga sturgeon (found mainly in the Caspian and Black Seas) can easily become 100 years old and measure over 7 m in length, weighing just over 1,500 kg. We gave tip to the man who took care of us during the visit (50 PRB) and bought caviar on the spot from the company shop (30 g / 18 EUR).
