We thought we already saw all the crazy mountain roads carved into hills in Saudi Arabia, but today we realized how wrong we were. We took route #1801 from Wadi Lajab toward Jazan through the Faifa Mountains. After a few kilometers, crazy unmarked ascents started, and just in the middle of it, before Al Maqbora, we got stuck in an extremely steep hill behind the sharp curve.
After a few minutes of trying to move, we made it with “4WD Low,” where torque multiplication helped us to climb the hill. Our clutch and transmission will never forget these hills, and we should also not forget to mention our decisive exhaust break, which we used all the way down from Faifa Mountains to the Red Sea.
