After long waiting on the bridge over the Danube River between Romania and Bulgaria, we finally went through the messy border and have arrived second time in Bulgaria to visit the ancient city, which is sometimes called “Little Vienna”. It was one of the main cities of the Ottoman Empire, after 1878 Ruse was the largest city in Bulgaria.
